The temperature was below freezing in Mongolia. I was mortified to find out that it was -10 degrees Celsius. When I heard that, I had the sinking feeling that the Azkals will already lose to Mongolia. Facebook is shutting down on March 15th. This was the news that greeted me this morning at, where else, Facebook itself. With disbelief written all over my face, I clicked the link my FB friend posted on profile. I read it and reread but still can’t believe it. I then checked my favorite website, Daily Mail, to check if it’s there but no story about it as of now. If I’ll see it there tomorrow then maybe the news that Facebook is shutting down is true. A few months back, I though Mark Zuckerberg was trying to unseat Google. Now he has made a complete turn and said he doesn’t care about the money his multi-billion invention will be generating if it continues operation. PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”

Breastfeeding can be a challenging endeavor for new mothers. Sometimes, newborn babies will not latch on properly to the breast. Some infants may be very irritable or fussy so that breastfeeding them can be a trying experience.

Here are some breastfeeding tips to help mothers in caring for their newborns…

1. Try to stay as close to your baby as possible during the first year. This will help you to develop a sleep rhythm. Most studies have shown that when hungry babies begin to wake up, mothers tend to wake up minutes ahead of the infant, just in time for feeding.

2. Nursing on demand is the best way to feed babies, which is usually 12 feedings in a day. This helps to promote greater milk production in the breast.

3. The best position for breast feeding is by sitting comfortably in a chair with adequate back support, and pillows on your lap to support your arms as you cradle the baby. Keep your feet and legs elevated with a footrest.

4. Cradle the baby close to you, making sure that his/her hips are flexed. This would make it easier for the baby to turn his/her head towards the breast. His mouth and nose should be facing the nipple.

5. Latch the baby onto your breast by coaxing him to open his mouth wide while supporting him at the back. If there is pain, carefully pull the baby away and try again.

6. Always nurse them for as long as they want. Make sure you switch breasts to drain the milk completely, so as to prevent breast pain. A typical feeding usually lasts between 10 to 45 minutes.

7. Never force a baby who has been crying for some time to breastfeed. He will refuse to latch on to the breast even if he is very hungry. Soothe him first by rocking him and then, once he’s calm, try feeding him.

Breastfeeding need not be a trial for a new mother. This act of nursing the baby is the best way to form and strengthen the bond between mother and child.
