Duchess Kate’s Best Asset ...

The Duchess of Cambridge wore this elegant black strapless gown recently. It fits her svelte figure and emphasized her broad shoulders. Her accessories were minimal – just a small clutch, a bracelet, and her rings. But you know what her best accessory is? Her shiny shiny brown hair! It just goes to show that blondes don’t have all the fun because brunettes can rock it too. Well, she’s the one who got her prince, didn’t she? :)

The big trends in women’s shoes on ...

The range of shoes online featured by high street shops like House of Fraser this summer is quite diverse, for both women and men.  The cyclical nature of fashion is most usefully expressed when a classic but also open style is revisited by designers, or in other words an established design that is not too prescriptive.  In terms of women’s shoes online this summer, the court shoe is the big revamp hit, with the peep toe variety in particular proving popular on runways and in shops across the fashion world.

The versatility of court shoes makes these items an especially good acquisition.  As with all classic designs, certain court shoes will come in useful year after year, being appropriate on both formal and informal occasions.  Black court shoes in particular exhibit this multi-function, chameleonic property, suitable for wearing both to work and also out for the more formal social occasion.  The timelessness of the court shoe design makes this footwear a bona fide wardrobe staple.  With the many incarnations of this style, which includes peep toe, high heel, low heel, bar, bow and hybrid cross over styles, a quick look at shoes online is sure to uncover a court shoe that suits you.

The summer is of course the time that sandals come into their own.  This summer is no exception with every significant collection of shoes online featuring quite a diverse range of sandals.  Wedges continue to be a popular form of the sandal, as like the court shoe, the wedge design leaves a lot of scope for designers to express fresh ideas within the form.Comfortable and casual wedges, with a gentle heel and muted grey and brown tones can allow you to relax and remain comfortable while out browsing the shops or going for a coffee.  Stacked heel wedges with glitzy sliver strapping are perfect for a big night out where you may be hopping from dinner, to several bars, and on clubbing, as these shoes combine glamour with the kind of comfort you’ll need if walking and dancing, as well as looking good.  To really stand out, there are several fashion houses like French Connection that have produced striking hybrid sandal designs this summer, with extreme heels and copious strapping that hints at the burlesque, and are guaranteed to turn heads.

Available now but with a nod to the approach of autumn, the ankle boot is also appearing in a variety of guises, offering a bit more protection for your feet than the court shoe or sandal.  Ranging from sturdy leather to peep toe suede, you’ll also notice a lot of military inspired boots in women’s shoes online collections this summer, as the military look continues to feature strongly in the fashion shows of many top designers.  Desert style brown suede and leather will work well with home-made cut off jeans and fishnet tights, and also prove suitable if you are planning on attending any festivals this year.

Men’s fashion summer trends ...

With summer well and truly underway you may still find yourself with a little shopping to do if you are going to catch up with the men’s fashion now featuring in high street shops like House of Fraser.  Summer 2011 has brought quite a mixed bag of men’s fashion, and the depth of choice out there this season must surely be welcomed as a liberating chance to find clothes that are both ‘now’, and actually suit your body type.  Here we’ll take a brief look at some of the men’s fashion essentials for this summer.

With the American preppy look making a big comeback on the fashion runways this year, the boat shoe has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity.  The boat shoe is a flexible bit of footwear, that can be worn sockless with tailored shorts, or equally comfortably combined with some preppy chinos.

If you are plumping for preppy, the summer sweater is a must have item, and just how bold you want to go colour-wise is up to you.  Colourful knitwear is at the core of the layered preppy look, and a good summer sweater will work with both chinos and shorts.  In the British summer, a summer sweater is above all a practical addition to your wardrobe, when you occasionally end up braving the elements when the weather changes quickly, threatening your barbecue.

The chambray shirt is a trend with legs, that started appearing in fashion shows as early as Spring 2010.  Truly a men’s fashion essential that looks set to be with us for a good while to come, many people are expanding their ownership of chambray shirts to cover different bases, from casual loose fit to tight fitting, tailored dressing up pieces.  The choice of chambray shirts out there makes this a flexible fashion item, and if you shop around a bit you are sure to find a cut that perfectly suits your build.

The espadrille is the runaway success story in shoes this year, never mind this summer.  Lightweight canvas uppers provide a shoe that rivals the plimsoll for easy-on versatility, and provides a bit more protection when out and about in town than the distinctly ‘dad’ looking sandal.  Fitting well with both jeans and chinos, the espadrille has the versatility to go with looks from preppy casual to guitar god.

The bomber jacket has resurfaced in the wake of continued interest in military inspired looks.  Like the aviator jacket that made a big comeback in both women and men’s fashion last autumn, the bomber jacket provides both style and substance, providing proper protection from the elements that can see you right through the winter.  With every major designer in men’s fashion featuring at least one take on the bomber jacket in their summer collections, the bomber is arguably the prime mover in men’s jackets this summer.

Summer fashions for the suitcase ...

It’s approaching the beginning of July and we can safely say that the summer has arrived. The sun is even beginning to cotton on to the fact that the time is ripe to come out and shine over the patiently waiting UK. And with the enormous posters of bikini-clad women appearing on billboards and the sides of buses, we’re only thinking about one thing: what clothes to buy.

Whether you want to be ‘summer-sheek’ for a date with someone you met on eHarmony UK or you need to look great on your two-week jaunt to Mallorca, here are some of the hottest summer fashions to help you update your wardrobes and suitcases…

Tops

The high street seems to be favouring one of two styles of top this summer. The first sees necklines low and often off the shoulder, the material a soft and floaty cotton. Baggily cut with three-quarter-length sleeves and often of a floral pattern, these tops give you a casual beach look, and the extra breeze they provide is sure to keep you cool. The other trend is for sleeveless tops with bright-coloured designs, high necklines and a much tighter fitting.

Bottoms

High-waisted skirts are once again very in this season, the 50s style still extremely popular both on the high street and in the general world of fashion. High-waisted shorts are still also up there on the agenda, but with a move towards short, though quite baggy shorts for the beach, perfectly matching the popular floaty summer tops. Tight cropped trousers are currently the third top look in the bottoms department, for the more overcast days.

Dresses

Although maxi-dresses are still very much the now in the all-in-one department, jumpsuits and playsuits are slowly muscling their way in and causing quite a fuss. Who wants a dress when you can buy something slightly more comfortable, practical and stylish? Loose-fitting playsuits are simply perfect for the beach – and they make you feel like a toddler again!

Shoes

The gladiator sandals are once again appearing on our shelves, those elegant, blister-free solutions to the summer shoe. But in keeping with the 50s craze, light-coloured brogues – in creams and browns – are also sneaking on to the fashionable summer foot. These look fantastic no matter the weather, preferably next to beautifully tanned legs!

Accessories

Scanning this year’s sunnies shelves, fully rounded John Lennon glasses seem to be all the vogue. Aviators and Ray Bans are also still making their presence known, and you’ll be the height of fashion with any of these perched on your nose. Flowers in the hair are also still a major trend, lending a touch of summer to any outfit.

Mix and match with any of these top fashions and you’re sure to get the best look for your holiday, work day or Muslim online dating suitor!

How to Create a Day-to-Night Look ...

The secret to fitting both work and fun into your day is to get creative about fashion. Use a little forethought, the extra room in your purse and the right clothes to take your look from day to night without that extra stop at home.
The best way to create a day-to-night look is by wearing a basic outfit and then changing accessories. A black tank dress can be perfect for work with a matching short jacket, small earrings and pumps.
The same black tank dress can turn into a fantastic night look by removing the short jacket, adding large earrings, a matching necklace and some high-heeled shoes. All that’s left is to freshen up your makeup and you’re good to go.
Any basic garment should be something that can be layered over. Ideally, it should be a single color with only subtle patterns. Tropical prints don’t do well for work or play unless you live in the tropics. Short dresses and skirts are usually inappropriate for work, but there are ways to get around that. If a dress is one of the popular oversized shirt styles, or the skirt is simple, it’s easy to pair with leggings or tailored slacks. The result is a demure look for work, and after work all you have to do is slip off those leggings to be ready to party.
Slacks can generally be a little more difficult to work with. To go from dull to jazzed up, pair slacks with the right belt and shoes. A fun belt helps soften the all-business slacks and makes the overall outfit seem relaxed.

Teen Fashion ...

Teen fashion is a completely new segment that has created a rage in the fashion industry. The 21st century teens have adopted extremely amazing fashion trends that are often seen on ramps and cream fashion areas. Teenagers have now become smarter with a stronger sense of fashion and personality. They prefer wearing something that makes them stand out in the crowd. The choice of clothing has become funky and trendy with lively outfits and fashion accessories.

In the world of teen dresses there are ample of choices and options for the teenagers. Wherever you wish to go whatever you wish to do, clothing is something that has to be comfortable in all ways. Some of the basic trends in teen clothing are vintage blue jeans with a trendy top in shades of blue, yellow and white. Teens today don’t look for brand new feel of jeans, they go for faded or stonewashed jeans. Some teens prefer wearing jeans with strands of threads pulled out here and there. Jeans and denim are available in variety of styles and cut like the boot cut, straight fit, skinny fitting, stretch material, baggy, and capri. Other trendy color options in jeans are black, streaked, and bleached.
Jumpers and sweaters are also in for both girls and boys during the winters. On a chilly winter morning these are the best options over denim or vintage jeans. These are available in cowl neck, V-neck, and flexible neck line. Some of the trendy colors options are sober beige, blue, black, and delicious red.

Timeless Fashion ...

With the coming of the new year, also comes new trends in fashion and as we say good-bye to all that was in 2010 (a lot of hot pants, knee high socks, lace, leather and cut out clothing) we now say hello to the fashion trends and tips for 2011. Below are our top 10 tips for best fashion advice that can be given to anyone during any time of the year.

Choose the clothes that suit your body. No matter what trendsetting or fashion forward clothing you purchase if it will not compliment your body-then you’d better put it back on the store rack!

Less is not always more when it comes to jewelry. For men, you must not over accessorize, do not wear more than 3 pieces of jewelry. Silver is becoming popular these days so you might want to invest. For women, less is not always more especially during the summer, you can accessorize you summer outfits with big and bold accessories. Wooden beads and citrus colored bangles are a good sight during the summer.

In the winter, accessorize. During the cold weather add a little pop of color to the weather, you can accessorize with sweaters and scarves, ensure it matches your outfit though! Try to mix and match things, if you are wearing tight fitting jeans then a big sweater will be a good contrast and will compliment your slender legs.

Keep your shoes and belts looking brand new. Shoes and belts can catch the eye of other people so make sure that you invest in a good pair of shoes and a nice belt and make sure that they are regularly kept clean and shiny – there’s nothing worse than a pair of muddy boots combined with a smart dress!

Fashionistas Know Their Body Types ...

Most of us believe that being fashionable is only applicable to those with model thin body. These are the women we see on the runway, thus fashion is only for them. However, this kind of thinking is so wrong! Whatever your body type is, fashion will and can love you! They key is proper highlighting of body features and you are as hot as the models of the runway.

Probably the most common type of body is pear. Pears have their upper body smaller than lower and when they gain weight it usually goes to their hips and thighs. Because the lower body is larger than the upper one, it’s important for pears to find a balance between the two. So if your body shape is pear you should wear fitted tops in bright and light colors with different prints and to make your hips and legs look slimmer you should wear A-line or flared skirts. If you prefer jeans you should wear wide leg or straight legged jeans in darker colors. Another great fashion tip from mine body shape fashion tips is that if you want to bring attention to your neck and face rather then to your hips, you should wear necklaces and earrings.

Apples have their upper body larger than lower and if they gain weight it usually goes to their waistline. So it’s important to draw attention from your waist to your legs. So wear jeans that have a flat front and have back pockets that can give a little bit of curve to your flatter rear. You should stay away from jeans that are too tight as they will make you look even bigger on the top. If you prefer skirts, wear A-line skirts or short skirts that are 1 to 5 inches above the knee. The tops you shouldn’t wear with those jeans and skirts are dark tops with too many patterns. And because apples have larger breast don’t forget that very important is the right bra.

Fashion for Different Seasons ...

Whatever the season is, fashion should not be forgotten. So whether the cold winter chill sends you shivering or the summer wave makes you even hotter, fashion should always be your main statement. And this summer, get all glam and preppy with these hot-hot-hot fashion summer tips that leave you burning hot. Read along to learn more.

Accessorize your summer outfits with big and bold accessories. Chunky wooden beads, oversized clutches in juicy citrus shades and armfuls of bangles all look stunning with summer clothes, so pile them on. Make use of camisoles, they are one of the most versatile pieces of summer clothing. You can wear them under a suit for work, with jeans for the weekend or even with smarter trousers and heels for a night out.
For slightly cooler summer weather, wear a bolero or shrug with a dress. It will keep your arms warm without ruining the line of the dress. For an understated look for the summer, try layering different neutral shades. This look will make you feel both cool and calm. Don’t be scared of showing your legs. If you can’t bear to wear shorts, try a knee length summer skirt or dress. If you are worried that your legs don’t look long enough wear heels. If you are worried that they look too white, try some fake tan or tan colored tights. A pair of white trousers is a great wardrobe basic or the summer. They look great with women’s t shirts, camisoles and tunic tops.

Stylista Summer ...

Summer is a great time of year. The weather is warm, the days are longer and many of us get to spend a week or two relaxing on holiday. There are often weddings, parties, balls and barbecues to attend in the summer giving us a great opportunity to get dressed up. Summer is also a great time to have a little fun with fashion and try out something new. When the sun is shining bright colors, prints and pastels all look amazing. You also don’t need to worry about what coat or cardigan to wear as it is warm enough to go without. Here are our top fashion tips for the summer.

Looking stylish in the summer is partly about keeping cool. A red shiny face is not a good look and you can ensure that you always keep yourself cool and comfortable by wearing loose fitting clothes in light colors and natural fabrics on hot days.

Women’s t-shirts are a great casual option and go with almost anything. Find yourself a great style of t-shirt that flatters your body shape and then invest in a few in different colors to go with a variety of different outfits. A slightly thicker fabric will usually be more flattering as it tends to skim over lumps and bumps rather than clinging.

Tunic tops are ideal for covering up on the beach on holiday or wearing with a pair of neutral trousers for a relaxed summer outfit. Look out for tunic tops in bright colors and patterns for a fun and eye catching outfit.

Look Great From Day to Night ...

As you shop, think about how you can change a day look to a night look. Always use clothes made from relaxed and breathable materials. Something that makes you sweat during the day will look terrible by the end of work. Fabrics that wrinkle easily are your worst enemy, and they should be avoided completely.

Also steer clear of light colors that will show stains. People tend to wear black in clubs for a good reason. You don’t want to call off that date just because someone at work spilled soup on you. The darker the colors, the less they will show most stains, wrinkles or sweat.

Carry a large purse you can take with you to work or hide in your car. This should provide enough room for your makeup, change of shoes and jewelry. Make sure to carry jewelry in a small pouch, or even a plastic baggie, to keep items from scattering along the bottom of your purse.

If you cannot spare the room for an extra pair, try strengthening the pair you’ll wear the next day. Spray your panty hose with a light and even coat of basic hairspray. Place them in a plastic bag and immediately stick the hose and bag in the freezer. Let them stay in there for at least two hours, even overnight. Make sure to take them out about fifteen minutes before you wear them, so they can warm up.

Remember, many clothes were custom made for the day-to-night look. Many design houses have entire lines of women’s clothes dedicated to this theme. So keep this transition need in mind the next time you’re shopping, and look for pieces created to go from work to play.
